Two foreign university students who were caught with a total of 5 and a half grams of drugs in Gönyeli last month have been sent to prison for 25 days as unconvicted prisoners.
The suspects identified as S.E, 25 and A.I.A, 21 were arrested on March 28 by narcotics police and arraigned before a Lefkosa court on charges of "taking, selling and possession of illegal drugs."
Police say 5 grams of banned substance was found in the residence of one of the suspects while half a gram of drug was found on the other suspect who was a guest in the house.
Police say the suspects gave voluntary testimony as investigation into the case has been concluded.
They were sent to prison as unconvicted prisoners for a period not exceeding 25 days.
