In the wake of his historic performance at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London last year, fans of Wizkid began to draw comparisons between the pop star and late Afrobeat legend; Fela, suggesting that the Starboy has surpassed the Afrobeat maestro.
Wizkid has however shut down the comparisons. In a recent interview with Hip TV, the singer described the comparison as disrespectful to the late legend. “No we can’t compare. Let’s not use that word coz that’s like a disrespect. That’s someone that inspires me. I have him tatted on me, you can’t compare mehn. Fela inspires me”, he stressed.
