I Wasn't Sacked, Neither Was I Tried By The NSS EMU Senate - Mr. Uche Joel Says.

Following a press release by the Nigerian Students Society EMU, which stated the sack of it's Director of Welfare, Mr. Uche Joel, the man in question has come out to state that he was neighter sacked or tried by the NSS Senate. He says he was already going to resign before the announcement was made. He sent us a statement which you can read below.

I am making this statement to clarify the issue at hand and clear my name of any wrong doingand here is my own side of the story. The NSS President, Jerry Sambe put a call through to me while I was studying with a course mate in preparation for my 4 units course which comes up tomorrow. I was engulfed in my studies and couldn't pick up the call. He kept calling till my phone went off due to battery exhaustion. I went home to charge my phone and call back and to my surprise, it had been plastered all over Facebook that I have been sacked from my office. I feel I was treated unfairly, I have no objection to me being sacked but I expected a fair trial by the senate and for my own side of the story to be heard before the decision was made so we can all work as one for the growth and success of the NSS. Aside my job as Director of Welfare, I also have my personal and academic life that I feel should not be encroached on. This is my side of the story.

On The accusation of misconduct and abuse of office, I would like to state that I have never neglected my obligations as Director of Welfare. If I am studying and can't meet the President at a very late hour then I stand to be corrected or given a fair hearing by the senate and not an outright sack from office. I am not bothered by any of this. Life goes on.
