Two separate arrests were made at the Lokmaci border crossing. One was the night before last and the second one, yesterday morning.
The total drug haul was 110 packets of synthetic cannabis and 1 gram of heroin. Five people were arrested, including a Greek Cypriot.
All the persons arrested were in Nicosia Court yesterday where they were ordered to be detained while police continue their investigations.
The first person to be arrested was Tevfik Kuyucuoglulari at 7pm the night before last. He was searched at the Lokmaci border gate as he attempted to cross into the TRNC and was found to have 1 gram of heroin hidden in his sock and arrested. Afterwards he gave a voluntary confession to the police where he revealed the details of his accomplices.
