Five people were last week arrested in Küçük Kaymaklı district, Lefkosa and a large number of guns and ammunition recovered from them following a search made by the police in different places on court orders.
According to report, a total of 6 guns including hand guns and hunting rifles, were seized by the police and five people arrested on Thursday March 8 at Küçük Kaymakli.
Police say they are investigating whether or not the seized weapons were used by the suspects in any case, and why these weapons are obtained.
The suspects were charged to a Lefkosa court on Friday for illegal gun possession and were ordered to remain in police custody for three days.
