In the last 12 months, a slew of new artists have popped up in Cyprus and building their own wave and buzz since their emergence, some of these artists include Donald D, Olayinka, Dimix, YungZil, Mimi, M-Rhymez, Tophaa just to name a few. It can be recalled that 2015 and a better part of 2016 was more so a very slow year for African music in Cyprus with only a little bit above a handful of artists dropping new materials and doing shows but the energy has been back as these new artists have been pushing out new songs day in day out.
Among this pool of new artists disturbing the Island is a note worthy rap group called Chyzi and Qmarks. The duo started out as young musicians in Nigeria before moving to Cyprus to study and eventually continues their careers and musicians and performers. They both are students of Cyprus international University and my oh my, they touched down with burning flame. They are currently finding their way into people's ears and devices and making moves to collaborate with every popping artist in Cyprus at the moment as a way of building a buzz and expanding their reach.
They have been hanging out some names that are familiar to you such as Kevin Tita, D.E.T and Puzzo. In fact they have a song already with Kevin Tita titled 'Samankwe' which features another new act, DaFist and they have already started shooting a video for the song. Will you be surprised to find out that they have already released an EP titled NAIJA 2 CYPRUS which has 5 songs on it and that is not even one quarter of the heat they got coming.
You can check out the EP below.

Chyzi and Qmarks are not just about the talks to take over the game, they have also started building on their visibility as they just released a brand new video for their song 'LOST' which carters to the ladies and they have already performed at the CIU Spring Festival. It will only be a matter of time before their energy begins to spread all over Cyprus and beyond if they keep this fire burning as it is now.
Their new single 'Samankwe' featuring Kevin Tita & DaFist is definietly something you should look out for.
