According to the police, the car had been set alight near the Ayios Georgios chapel in Choulou, also in the Paphos district. The burning vehicle was spotted at 11pm on Monday night.


The car had been stolen from a lot near the airport in Paphos after being left there while its owner left Cyprus on holiday.
CID Paphos officers, meanwhile, on Monday called in four people matching the robbers’ body types for questioning. None of the four were charged.
The authorities, however, are confident that CCTV footage and DNA let at the scene of the robbery will result in the robbers’ arrest.

Police said the footage indicated the robbers had been involved in similar crimes before.
The robbers made off with an estimated €30,000 from the Timi co-op bank in Paphos during an armed robbery at 8.30am on Monday.
The men had been wearing balaclavas during the robbery making it difficult for witnesses to provide descriptions of them however one is believed to be around 1.65m tall and the other around 1.80m.
