43 prisoners has embarked on hunger strike at the Lefkosa Central Prison in protest demanding their unconditional release from detention.
The hunger strike was started on Wednesday morning by 29 prisoner whose application for his unconditional release from detention made to the Parole Board was denied.
On Thursday morning, the number of prisoners on hunger strike had increase to 43.
