In the last 12 months, there have abeen a significant rise in theamount of non-Nigerian entertainers who have been rising up to the occassion and participating in the Afrobeats scene here in Cyprus. We have seen musicians like Phatso, Trakilla, Yoyo and the latest addition, DJ Mao.

DJ Mao was first introduced to us by DJ Delete sometimes late last year after he (DJ Delete) shared a link to Mao's mixtape on Facebook. The mixtape was packed with top afrobeats and hiphop songs and the transition, tempo and songs selection was so on point. Not too long from then, DJ Mao's name began popping up on various event line ups and he has kept the fire burning since then. He has featured in same events as Mr. Eazi, Falz and Patoranking as well as other sold out events that have been held in Cyprus.
He is currently working on a brand new mixtape in colloboration with YBNL's DJ Enimoney. Apparently both DJ's met when Eni Money came to Cyprus on tour and they linked up to work on the yet to be released mixtape.
If you are a Congolese in Cyprus, DJ Mao is attracting a lt of good light to everyone from your country in Cyprus. We strongly believe if entertainers from all the different African countries in Cyprus come together and work together, in no time Afrobeats music will be a top contending genre both here and in Turkey.
