EXCLUSIVE: What Happened To Sean Tizzle's Career?

The entertainment industry any where in the world is one moving train that thrives on shedding it's parts from time to time, more so it's like an eagle that grows stronger by shedding it's feathers and most times musicians, movies stars and other compatriots of this giant house become victims irrespective of their talents or lack of talent.

In the Nigerian music industry, we have had our own fair share of one hit wonders, flash in the pans or flukes as people like to call them but it is surprising when an entertainer who is obviously talented and had built a brand for themselves just begin to roll down into the abyss. One of these artists is Sean Tizzle. So painful.

Sean Tizzle rose to fame in 2013 after his debut single 'Sholee' suddenly became a massive hit, he had just left Sound Sultan's Naija Ninjas record label and signed with DTunes' Difference Entertainment. He had been signed to Sound Sultan for a couple of years and their group was reportedly working on an album and 'Sholee' was one of the songs on the project that was meant for Sound Sultan and when Sean was leaving he stole the song. Later on, Sound Sultan sued DTunez and Sean Tizzle and all the rights to the song was signed over to him.

Regardless of the controversy surrounding 'Sholee', Sean Tizzle still proved himself to be a talented artist and continued to release hits after hits including the club favorites 'Mama', 'Loke Loke', 'Perfect Gentle Man' and more. His debut album 'The Journey' sold above a million copies and reach the No.1 spot on the Nigerian iTunes Charts for over a month. The album also won the award for Album Of The Year at the Headies Awards 2014.

Then Sean Tizzle parted ways with DTunes and that is where the downward spiral began. All of a sudden his subsequent single like 'Eruku Sa Yepo'  didn't do good on radio and hardly got any big media push, infact all through 2016 he stayed relevant only when blogs talked about his relationship status and the different in the colours of his face from his hands. He launched his own label, Tizzle Nation and this didn't even make the news, we only found out from the logos on his videos. Infact he recently released a song featuring one of America's hottest hiphop acts, Tory Lanez, titled 'Hit N Run' and still nothing happened. He was poised to release his sophomore album titled 'Moving On' and just today he changed it to an EP due to lack of hype and anticipation.

One thing that is sure is that Sean Tizzle is still very young and talented and his fans are still waiting to see what he does next but the big machine is longer behind him. In the Nigerian music industry, once you come up through a label especially one that has a lot of connections to media platforms, DJ's and TV stations and you leave, they put you on a black list that will frustrate you till you give up, look at talented artists like YQ, Chuddy K, Flowssick and a few others. The only artists that survived this sting are WizKid and Skales.

Sean Tizzle still has a chance of making a huge come back even though Kiss Daniels who has a similar sound and style to his has some what filled the void left by Sean's absence, this is because both artists are inspired and sound like 9ice. Can he do it again? The future will judge.

Mean while check out his latest release below.
