The newly elected president of the Nigerian Students Society, Pres. Jerry Sambe and his cabinet will be sworn into office on Monday 14 November 2016 and the occassion will also serve as the first congress to be held by the society in 2 years. The last time a congress was held by the NSS in EMU was under the regime of ex president Samuel Omale.
Congress used to be an avenue for Nigerian students living both inside and outside the school premises to come together and voice their opinions on whats bothering them and suggest to the government what should done and also an avenue to be updated on what the society has been up to but for reasons unknown to us, congress was suspended and never held after ex president Salim Hamza Ringim took over office in 2014 even though it was brought back once under the leadership of outgoing president Farouk Madaka. In all honesty, the absence of congress really created a gap between the Nigerian students in the school and made everyone feel sort of removed from the NSS.
Well Congress is back and hopefully it is here to stay from now on under the leadership of Pre. Jerry Sambe. Lets all come out and voice our opinions and let our voices be heard. Venue is at CL Red Hall, EMu Main Campus and time is by 5:30pm. Be there!!!
