Kevin Tita's Single 'I AM THE MAN' Accumulates 3,500 Streams & 2,000 Downloads.

The goal of every artist in any setting they find themselves in is to get people to listen to their music and keep them listening no matter what but most importantly to make sure they register a hit song for every year they find themselves there. This is what award winning Nigerian rapper based in Cyprus, Kevin Tita has been doing ever since he rose to notoriety as an artist in Cyprus while he studies here.

He is probably the only artist on the Island right now that hasn't released a song that has flopped in terms of performance in downloads and streams and to add to his list of successful efforts is his latest single 'I AM THE MAN' or 'I'm That Nigga' which was released 2 months ago without any prior announcement or hyping. The song currently stands at 3,500 streams on Cyprus soundcloud and over 2,000 downloads. Now some people might wonder why these numbers are significant, well that is because there is only about 8,000 people on the Island that listen to music from black artists and most artists only end up doing around 1,000 streams at most even after they release their song locally and inernationally.

The song 'I Am The Man' features rapper, Flamez (from the hiphop group, DET) and was only released in Cyprus and to make sure it stays only in Cyprus, neither Kevin Tita nor his management posted the song on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook so that listeners from outside the Island won't be able to stream it or download. Last year Kevin's single 'CashOut' finished the year as the most streamed song by any black artist in Cyprus with 5,000 streams and over 12,000 downloads after which another song he was featured on 'Million Dollar Movement' by JayBlinkz also crossed the 5,000 streams mark.

This is to show that in the absence of support from radio or TV in the country, the internet has become a viable platform for black artists on the Island, especially the ones that take their music seriously. See both links for downloads and streaming below .
