All African Students Schooling in North Cyprus, in over 6 international Universities namely; Eastern Mediterranean University, Cyprus International University, Near East University, Girne American University, European university of Lefke, Middle East Technical University and the host of others Under the aegis of AFRICAN STUDENTS ASSOCIATION TURKISH REPUBLIC OF NORTHERN CYPRUS which has over 50,000 (Fifty Thousand) Students, come together Annually to Celebrate our Unity, Cultural Heritage and Celebrate Students that have excelled both in academics and extra curricular activities by presenting this Prestigious and well Adored award to them and and some recognized personalities.
the name of the award is AFRICAN STUDENTS GRAND AWARD (ASGA) and it was initiated in 2012 by the Nigerian Students Society Eastern Mediterranean University, famagusta North Cyprus Temitope Shoniyi currently in Germany.
Hence the 2016 ASGA is the 5th Edition of the Award.
More so, there will be a Beauty Pageant (Miss Africa TRNC), during the ASGA Event, beauty contest is been conducted and Winner is crowned the Queen of all the girls in North Cyprus, tasked will various responsibilities. to qualify for this contest, each participating university conduct her beauty contest in her school to crown her university queen. in Eastern Mediterranean University the contest will be on the 2nd May, 2016 and the title of the contest is Miss Africa EMU.
On Voting Process....
The EMU Internal Organizing Committee of the 2016 African Students Grand Award (ASGA), which is the Biggest, most cherished and adored African Award in North Cyprus, through the Chairman announced the ASGA 2016 EMU Award Nomination Schedule and why EMU International Office was adopted as Venue.
The post issued through the official facebook page of the African Students Grand Award 2016 "ASGA 2016" and a copy sent to the Nigerian Students Society EMU Publicity Directorate states that the nomination will commence on Monday 11th April, 2016 and last till Friday 15th April,2016 (5 days), when asked why the extended duration of nomination, Ugochukwu Favour Undenyi said, since Students of the University are writing their midterms exams, it is only logical to extend the nomination dates so that students can nominate their choiced nominees for award categories during their convenient time. The chairman went further to say, the Venue for the nomination is EMU International Office, EMU International Office was adopted during the last Organizing Committee meeting attended by over 8 Countries to show the neutrality of the nominations and allow the organizers balance their time with organizing the event and also writing their exams.

GUIDELINES FOR NOMINATION:
- Walk into EMU International Office.
- Ask the HELP DESK Assistant for ASGA 2016 Nomination Form
- Fill the Nomination Form clearly
- Summit the Nomination form back to the Assistant
- Use ASGA 2016 EMU Award Category description in cases of any confusion.
NOTE:
- Nominees Must be Africans Students in EMU.
- Forms taken out of Nomination scene will be rejected.
- Forms without ASA Stamp or Assistant Signature will not be recorded during collation.
- Multiple Nomination is not allowed, hence names and student numbers will be required.
