GWE Award winning rapper Kevin Tita who recently announced to the general public that he will be releasing his first mixtape titled O.M.O (On My Own) EP, has further given more details on the mixtape and also the release date. Speaking with RythimCity Magazine, he said the EP will be released on 21st September.
"We
are still arranging, my record label has not even cleared it for
release but hopefully the mixtape will be released on the 21st of
September, that should be a good date considering the fact that it is
the end of the summer".
He also revealed which producers and artists he has tapped to work on the EP.
"I
worked with T-Izze on one of the tracks, I also hooked up with my long
time producer Dollars Infinity (who has worked with Naeto C, M.I and
Vector Tha Viper) for 3 songs including the lead single 'LOOKI LOOKI'
which is still enjoying a huge buzz on the web right now. On the artists
side, I would not be saying the artists I have worked with so far, at
least those who made the final cut will be revealed when the mixtape
drops"
On what type of songs will be heard on the mixtape, he said he has a track for every listener.
"You
know as an artist on the come up I wouldn't wanna put myself in a box, I
don't wanna be seen as that guy that started off with pure hiphop and
switched up once he started getting money. So I have a song for every
kind of listener, I have songs for the clubs, gym, bedroom, work and so
forth. But the overall feel of the mixtape is just good and quality
music because that is what is most important".
After rising
from a relatively no name to winning awards and gracing magazine covers
in northern Nigeria, multiple award winning rapper Kevin Tita a.k.a Mr. Nigeria shocked his fans and fellow industry colleagues by relocating to Europe for studies.
Until his
relocation, Kevin Tita's story inspired alot of youths especially in the
northern parts of Nigeria to turn their life around and prove other
wrong when all had failed them, in just a span of 2 years in the lime
light, he got signed to Babylynn Entertainment, a United Kingdoms based record label owned by Nigeria's number one female Dj Linda Jacks, the rapper won three awards namely Best New Artist and Best Inspirational Song of The Year (for his chart topping collaboration T.O.Y with multiple award winning Nigerian singer Omawumi) Young Marshals Awards in 2011, Best Male Rapper GWE Awards 2012 and over a handful of nominations including Best Rapper Of The Year, Best Rap Song of The Year Young Marshals Awards 2011, Best Pop Song GWE Awards 2012 and Best Online Phenomenon Of The Year E-Phenomenon Awards 2012.
